Foil & Epee Camp
w/ Notre Dame Fencing’s Head Coach, Gia Kvaratskhelia
This is the First of Four quarterly camps with Coach Gia for our 2024-2025 season.
Maestros Mikhail and Arkadiy Sarkisov, the Head Coaches of GRAFA, will be the instructors along with Coach Gia Kvaratskhelia, Head Coach of University of Notre Dame’s Fencing Team.
GRAFA’s Maestros each hold a BS degree in Physical Education and Coaching from the Azerbaijan University of Physical Education, and a Master's degree in Fencing.
They were both also Gold Medalists fencers of the former Soviet Union in 1985, medalists at the USSR Nationals from 1986-1989, and finalists at the World Cup and Student World Game fencing competitions.
In 2005, Maestro Mikhail Sarkisov was recognized by the US Olympic Committee as Developmental Coach of the Year. Many of his students successfully compete on National and International levels.
Both Maestros coached 8 National (NAC) champions in the different age categories in foil and epee. Several of Maestros’ students have also successfully fenced on NCAA Championships, earning First Team All-American, Honor, and All-American Recognition, competing for universities such as Northwestern, Notre Dame, Boston College, UNC, Temple, NYU, and Cornell.
Tuition:
$250.00, including the meals. (Lunch and snacks are provided every day.)
FULL PAYMENT ($250) IS REQUIRED FOR THE FINAL APPROVAL TO RESERVE THE SPOT IN THE CAMP. This is on a first-come, first-serve basis. All-ages welcome.

CAMP SCHEDULE
Saturday 09/14
10:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Conditioning, footwork, theory, and strategy drills.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch
1:30 PM - 3:45 PM: Conditioning, footwork, approach, strategy drills.
4 PM - GRAFA closes.
Sunday 09/15
10:00 AM - 12:30 PM Instruction, drills.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Lunch
1:30 PM - 3:45 PM Conditioning, footwork, theory, strategy drills.
3:45-4:00 PM Social Time: fencers must be picked up by their parents during this time.
4 PM - GRAFA closes.
